Steam Name: BabyButterJesus
Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:51020364
Steam Profile Link: http://steamcommunity.com/id/WolfTheGamer/
Age: 14.
Rp Experience: I have like 3-4 years of roleplay experience. I don’t remember a lot of the communities that I roleplayed on though, but I remember the first being a Metro roleplay.
How did you stumble upon our server?: I was part of the Aeternum group, where this community basically originated from. (Though I havn’t bothered to app in a whole year, oops.)
Tell me a cool Mass Effect Fact: Pretty much every gun in mass effect doesn’t actually shoot lasers. Instead they shoot metal slugs that are propelled through supposedly “electromagnet attraction and repulsion” This can shoot projectiles at crazy speeds. But the higher the speed, the more recoil. And we don’t want someone to dislocate his shoulder by trying to fire a powerful gun, do we? This is the same for small arms too. Basically, the actual magazine is a block of metal. Small arms can use this block of metal to fire thousands of rounds. Essentially this makes ammo not an issue during combat. So every time you reload, you just switch out heat sinks, so it doesn't have to cool down. You’re not reloading. And your weapon /doesn’t/ in theory have endless rounds.

Character Name: James Steel.
Character Race: Human.
Why did you choose this race?: It seemed the best choice for my type of character.
Age:29.
What can your character do for our ship? (Muscle, Maintenance, Triggerman, Comedic Act, etc.): He may not be a scientist, but he’s an old Engineer, with just enough skill to make smaller custom weapons. He can certainly shoot a weapon, almost matching the same skill level as an N7 operative.
Character Equipment: His armor is made out of multiple parts from different armor pieces. It’s almost impossible to keep track of the armor pieces he uses, but he maintains a medium class armor. Not too heavy, and not too light. He has a M-96 Mattock heavily modified. He will sometimes carry a Shield into battle, providing support for his comrades, or help him storm the enemy. He carries an M-6 Carnifex as his last resort. Along with the rest of his equipment required for him to do his job.
Moral Alignment: Chaotic Neutral.
Strengths:He has allot of combat experience. As well as being able to handle a lot of weapons, and building them too. He is very good in survival situations, where every second could be your last.
Weaknesses: At times he can be very cocky. He will more then often evaluate a target by it’s appearance, if he has had no experience with it in the past of course. He can be very stubborn, and fights for his beliefs (Which can be a burden, most of the time.) He has PTSD, but more then often he refuses to talk about it. He is very mentally unstable. He has trust issues.
Character Backstory a.ka. how or why are you here (One paragraph minimum, be creative!):

James was born into a low-class family. Most of his family members were addicted, or had at least tried drugs on multiple occasions. His father would often drink, and become abusive. But when he wasn’t drinking, he was teaching his son how to survive. Almost everything he knew about the streets, he knew from his father. But he started taking interest in technology. and how it worked. When he grew up, his family had just enough to send him to school. He knew how much they worked to get him there, so he didn’t waste time. He was one of the top students, and scored near perfect grades. He wasn’t very social though, and since he was pretty much poor, bullying was bound to happen. And so it did. The other kids tormented him. He started falling into depression, and stopped doing his homework.

James started having mental problems. One minute he was a calm kid, who said nothing, the next he was throwing out punches and cursing. His parents were at a loss with what to do with him. Eventually the government found out James parents couldn’t give him proper care, so they took him from them, and gave him to another couple. They tried their best to care for James, and give him all the love and support they could, but he denied it. He would start to do idiotic things like: Graffiti, bullying, stealing, and etc. He did everything in his power to rebel what he was told to.

James bullied his usual victim, but was caught red handed. James was moved to a different school, where he started over. Due to new friends having to be made, and new people affecting him, he started doing his homework again, and became a top tier student, like he was supposed to be.

James got a degree in Engineering, and his bad side was pretty much extinct. Or at least he thought so. He was running out of money, and had nowhere to live, and a hard time finding a job. So he joined a gang, and wasted his opportunity in life. He became exceptional with a firearm, and naturally earned a lot of money quickly. He saw the profits in crime. This of course, grew his bad side again. He accepted a job from an employer that seemed kinda sketchy. Providing security, while the employer did a drug deal. But it all turned out to be a set-up. The police caught them both, and put them on separate trials. James couldn’t afford a lawyer, and as you might have figured out, he lost. But it wasn’t a complete loss. He was forced to join the Alliance, or go to jail. He of course choose the Alliance, and joined the many men in battle on the front lines.

He quickly became a notorious soldier in the Alliance. He was one of the best marksmen in his entire regiment. But due to his talent. He started becoming cocky, and overconfident. And this would cost him his right arm during his military career. Although it felt like a loss, the new cybernetic limb did aid in his performance.
After a mission gone bad, he snapped, beating a soldier so bad he almost died. He was discharged dishonorably, and sent to a jail.

Upon entering the jail, the police performed a full body cavity search on him, he thinking “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me” After this, they told him that he could only keep a fraction of his personal belongings. The jail has a threat rating system. It goes from one, to six. Six being the lowest threat possible, and one being your typical murders, rapist, child molesters and etc. They rate you by gang involvement, and past crimes. The threat level is usually re-evaluated once a month. James was rated level three. The jail has the place they call “The Hole” This is where level three and up is thrown. They have the smallest rooms, and aren't allowed to leave their cell, at least until they allowed to go out in the yard, or do their jobs. And only level three are allowed jobs, and can use the money they earned from jobs, to buy extra food, or books, and so forth.

Inside the jail there was three gangs. Folk Nation, the dominant gang. They are the oldest, and most feared amongst the staff of the Jail. The Triad, the major drug dealers join this gang. And finally: The Inagawa, they only let in asians, which has caused them to be a huge minority in the jail.

James joined Folk Nation, where he befriended a prisoner, called Jonathan. Jonathan had a striking resemblance to James, which was why they became good friends. They watched each other's back. He learned that, if you don’t know them, don’t trust them even slightly. And if anybody talked you down or disrespected, you had to retaliate. There was a new prisoner who had done something unacceptable… He molested an eight year old.

He and Jonathan decided to “do” something about it. The molester was always in a specific spot where he was alone. No cameras, and barely any guards. Very convenient for what the were about to do. They walked over to him as James spoke up: “Hey, what’s up?” The man replying “You want something?” as he stood up. James walked closer to him as he said “Y’know, we don’t particularly like you.” The man replied “We? What do you mean we?”
Right after this sentence, James pulled out his shank from his sleeve, stabbing the man three times in the stomach. The man fell over, holding his hand on the area he was stabbed. His expression on his face was filled with disbelief, and confusion. James giving him a crooked smile just before the man closed his eyes.

Unfortunately for James, a guard saw what happened, as she yelled “Get down on the ground!” while pointing what looked to be a taser right at his face. Jonathan was nowhere to be seen. James dropped the shank on the ground. Another guard tackled him, and put him in cuffs. He was moved to level one threat. And was barely ever allowed out of his cell. He learnt, anyone you know can back stab you, at any given moment. He never saw Jonathan again, almost like he had completely vanished. He served the rest of his time, and has been one of the only few who got moved from level one to two again. He was released one month early for good behavior after the "incident"

His military career now ruined, he took on the mercenary business.

Hey, so a few questions.

Which limbs? Did he not learn a lesson after getting the first limb shot off? As for the kills, what does it say about him? Were all of the kills against combatants? Who was he killing?

James was relieved that was over, but at the same time, he was still longing for more action, craving it. When they reached the base James found John sitting in a chair. John said: "Hey dude! Awesome job back there! You saved my ass!" James just looked at him for a moment. He would then grab Johns collar, lifting him up with a blank expression. He would immediately punch John right in the face. John not expecting any of this, he fell right to the ground, face first. James then grab his back, and threw him into a wall. John would make a loud grunt of pain as his nose hits the wall, as he would have blood all over his face, his nose clearly broken. James would then get down on his knees next to where John was laying, and start punching him in the face, again and again. James would then pull out a knife as he would force John to open his mouth, and insert the knife into his mouth, slicing to the left, leaving a permanent crooked smile. Before he could get to the right side, he is pulled back by a couple of soldiers, and a medic. The medic would have a syringe in her hands, injecting it into James neck, he falling asleep.

He was discharged dishonorably, and sent to prison, and served for two years. His military career now ruined, he took on the mercenary business.

What was his jail experience like? Knowing about some random mission he went on didn't seem to tell us much about him or his worldviews.

Just in case you're wondering why the app is being torn apart, mentioning your character is about as skilled as an N7, is basically inviting very heavy standards.

As far as weapons go, the character is a little too much of a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-all type deal. Basically, he fills too many roles, pushing out any reliance on the rest of the crew in combat. What role did you intend for him to take in combat?

As for the weaknesses, what is it he believes in exactly?

Thanks for the feedback Filther.
The first question is a rather easy answer. I'm an incredibly lazy writer when it comes to back stories. I'll see if I cant do something about it later today.

Yes i'll see if I cant come into more detail on the jail experience.

My original idea of his role in combat, was filling out whatever role that wasn't present/required. I'll put more thought into this.

*Update*

Alright, so I removed the combat scenario, since it was honestly nothing but filler. I'm working on making more story on the jail experience, but since I haven't actually been to jail (Weirdly enough) it's gonna take me slightly more time making this.

Update

Fixed some grammatical errors, and added a bit more to the weaknesses. This is more then likely my last update.
