PostSubject: DRGN's Human Pilot Application   Thu Jul 14, 2016 10:05 pm

This has been revised.
Disclaimer: My intention as of the moment is to cycle out my current characters (Gavin Sterling and Drau Havyl, respectively) for two new ones with different stories. This is a decision I've made simply because I dislike using older characters that I've not used for a while. So don't mention how I'll have too many characters or you shall be maliced with a shoehorn.

FORMAT:

Steam Name: TheMightyDRGN / LQ-84i Bladewolf / I change this more frequently than I change socks.

Steam ID: STEAM_0:0:19286320

Steam Profile Link: rrerr

Age: 19 Y/O

Rp Experience: I created this account back in 2008. I was roleplaying on what was classified as 'Serious RP' back then on another account. That creates an excess of eight years at this point in time.

How did you stumble upon our server?: A really, really bad cocaine trip.

Tell me a cool Mass Effect Fact: Those warriors from Hammerfell have curved swords. Curved. Swords.
Mass Effect Andromeda is set in the Andromeda galaxy. If you don't think that's good stuff, then you're upsetting me.

----

Character Name: Ludmila Foulke

Character Race: Human, Caucasian.

Why did you choose this race?: Because I want it to be. The actual character dynamic I'm striving for doesn't require any specific species or anything, so as far as matters of choice go - I decided I'd make it a Human.

Age: 31 Y/O

What can your character do for our ship? (Muscle, Maintenance, Triggerman, Comedic Act, etc.): Piloting (aviation and ground), Bridge crew (generalized), Maintenance and Repairs (Fighters/Interceptors and basic misc. tasks)

Character Equipment: Four fitted flight jumpsuits of varying applique patterns and camouflage finishes. Three full-face helmets with different finishes. 1095 Carbon steel 9 inch survival knife. Spare Alliance Navy fatigues.

Moral Alignment: Lawful Neutral, in accordance to their own core beliefs.

Strengths:
- Freelancer's Code: A Mercenary to the core, they'll adhere to the unabashed moral of sticking to a job - no matter what the details are. Whether they're questionably legal or not doesn't matter to them. So long as there are credits at the end of the line, their devotion can be counted as unwavering - and their loyalty, undoubtable. Even in the face of a higher counteroffer, it's first come first serve.
- 'Yo, buddy. Still alive?': Piloting vehicles is their forte. They've done it for long enough, to the point where they can reliably count themselves trained in the operation of a great majority of modern single-seat vehicles (both airborne and ground) in addition to most spacefaring craft, including other species' craft to a lesser extent. (E.G Turian Fighters). Their speciality lies in the operation of Interceptor aircraft.
- Not just a pilot: Having suffered the monotonous horrors of being a Crew Chief that was burdened by incessant labor in the Alliance, they carry a fair bit of know-how when it comes to working with various one-person starships. Refuelling, rearming, repairing and preparing light aircraft is not unfamiliar to them, and the skills transition to basic ship maintenance or repairs on most other things as well (E.G larger starships or basic civilian vehicles, such as a skycar).

Weaknesses:
- Non-combatant: Just as it says. Ground-based combat isn't their thing. If one of their craft is inadvertantly grounded and they're stuck in hostile territory, they could easily be considered as being in hot water since they're less than savvy at ground-based warfare.
- Deutschschweizer: Können Sie Deutsch sprechen? They're not natively English, and although the Alliance forced them to learn and speak the language - this is no longer the Alliance. They're far more comfortable speaking German than they are English, and that'll come to be observed in their speech. Be it in a casual conversation or otherwise.
- Camaradiere: Ludmila is a person who enjoys the company of others. They're aware of the dangers inherent in the line of work they're getting into (more often than not), and know that the faces that they're familiar with might not be there the next day following a day on the job - for any reason. They find it hard to acknowledge this however, and even fear the sudden departure of others.
- Senseless: Ludmila is afflicted by CIP, or 'Congenital insensitivity to pain' - Congenital Analgesia in other words. They cannot readily identify the fact that they've been shot or cut since they lack the ability to feel the stimuli of pain, and cannot react to it appropriately as a result - either out of natural reflex, or from their own conscious reaction. They may not even take notice if they don't see or feel it. This, for anyone, is actually a severe condition since pain is usually a good universal indicator to apparent dangers posed to health.

Character Backstory: Ludmila Foulke was brought into the world on the 30th of January, 2152. Her Parents were of Germanic Swiss descent. They originated from the Canton of Lucerne in Switzerland, in the capital city of the region. For the initial part of her life, her upbringing was fairly unremarkable despite being diagnosed with a condition from birth. For the time where she was still among her kin, she was fostered among a pro-military family, with most relatives having gone on to serve within the Alliance Navy ever since its conception a few years ago, albeit without any prestigious positions or high ranking personnel so far. Most were simply crewmen who were fairly low on their paygrade, void a few who were capable of signing onto the Alliance OCS due to their outstanding performance in higher education.

Her Parents had the intention of spurning her to enlist just as the others in their family tree had done, and with the Alliance now coming into play - there was never a better time. They took note of the fact that she had been born with a hereditary condition that ran through her Father's side of the family - the inability to perceive the stimuli of pain, although her parents were able to amend this ailment. One costly procedure though it might have been, the fault was otherwise corrected. The result was an upbringing which wasn't plagued with various risks to her health, allowing her to meet the expectations set by her family when she became of age. With fair grades, she would have come to sign onto the Alliance, training with the Navy to become a Crew Chief aboard the Alliance Carrier SSV Hawking. At the age of 19, she would have succeeded, boasting no particular honors for the fair amount of effort she put into her education. It simply sufficed, for what it was.

Her service was unremarkable for the grand majority of its span. Ludmila was still steadfast despite the monotonous duty which she was faced with - working to the expectation of superiors, but never really going beyond it. Her time saw her participating in the Blitz circa 2176, acting on the side of the defenders and working to the specifications of her job in accordance to how the aforementioned superiors saw fit. Her role in the grand scheme of things was hardly noteworthy, and the conflict would have come to pass rather uneventfully.

Two years later in 2178, she would have participated in the retaliatory effort. An attack on Torfan, a barren Moon that had a number of Pirate outposts on its surface. During the escalation of the conflict, she was supposed to have been relocated to one of the ground sites on the moon in order to work on some of the transportation craft housed there. She was taken off of the SSV Hawking from a transport vessel, destined towards a nondescript forward outpost. But as with all things, war isn't without risk - the craft was intercepted at some point in its flight, and it was shot down alongside its small escort. The transport suffered a hard landing on the surface of the Moon - violently throwing about its occupants, but otherwise leaving them with their lives. Ludmila, having been among them, had suffered a blow to the head in the midst of the crash, but had otherwise escaped with no other significant injuries. In the post recovery phase however, she was medically discharged from the Alliance due to a resurgence of the condition which she had when she was born - its sudden reappearance being linked to the concussion that she had received in the crash.

With that, she was deemed unfit for service. Ludmila transported back to Switzerland at the age of 27 in 2179 - left with the wages that she had accrued over the years and the experience of being in the Alliance. The condition would have barred her from any sort of official Military business, a fact which caused some amount of frustration on her part. Those times of her life were grim - she was grounded, and lacked any means of getting back into military aviation. But in spite of everything, Ludmila yet took the opportunity that presented itself, and she had reacquainted herself with her family. She had to inform them of the discharge - producing some amount of spite on behalf of her parents, although they acknowledged that it wasn't anyone's fault. They waived some of the blame from the Alliance, understanding that it needed healthy soldiers instead of individuals at risk. In the end, they merely thought to encourage her to pursue another line of work in a form of aviation, even if it was civilian in nature. At least then, she would have been able to use everything she had learned about aircraft from the Alliance. It was a fair plan in ethos.

Of course, the notion of being a civilian pilot didn't bode well to someone boasting knowledge pertaining to military aviation. Ludmila thought to exploit it another way. Official channels such as the Alliance were a no-go because of the Congenital Analgesia, but she could have feasibly opted to become a mercenary pilot. She would have at least been bound by her own rules instead of someone else's, giving her much more flexibility in her purported role. Likewise, the medical condition could have been put aside for the most part. Whilst it wasn't ignorable, it wouldn't have gotten in the way of her doing any work - nor would it have caused concern to any would-be employers. They simply wished for a person who could get their task done after all. The grand scheme of the idea proved attractive enough for her to follow, and she had once more departed Earth at the end of 2179, intent on pursuing the goal of becoming a Freelancer.

Her work picked up almost immediately. Though she strived to stay away from the more centralized groups of Mercenaries, keeping to being Freelance instead of signing onto a group like the Blue Suns or Eclipse. Although larger and more illustrious jobs were out of her reach because of it, there was no shortage of small-scale work for her to undertake. On the job, she was capable of honing the skills which she had acquired within the Alliance, becoming familiar with all sorts of aviational craft, from familiar military vehicles to alien ones. More than a few years down the line, and she would have found an offering for a position in the company of others aboard a vessel dubbed as the 'Geisha'. It offered a steady line of pay - and there wasn't much in the way of things barring her from the job. In need of work following her last ordeal, it seemed a solid proposition.

A really, really interesting thing to include...  I can't wait to see how this gets integrated into your RP.

I know you wanted a critical eye, but honestly this is just a good app all around.  There isn't much I can criticize apart from the concussion leading to a reemergence of the analgesia, and that's only because I don't know feasable that scenario would be.  However, it makes for an interesting story and doesn't detract from the character themselves.

Ludmila is ACCEPTED.  Was there ever any doubt?
